Sam's moto this month has been, " I can do it" or "I will do it by myself" or (pouting) " I wanted to do that!" He is
growing into quite the independent little boy (except he still wants us to dress him and wipe his bum). He also seemed to
revert back into the infant days as well, as he likes to pretend he is a baby. We are getting a lot of Waaaa! Waaa! and Goo!
Gaaa! As well as calling everyone a "big fat baby". Academically, he is very into counting - especially to 100. Some days
he even wants to go beyond 100. Finally he is seriously into stars wars (the original plus an animated version) ,Transformers
and Power Rangers.
We have had some great moments and some low points this month.
The high points have been skiing, going to school with mama and easter. He continues to get better and better on skis
and fortunately seems to really enjoy it. Sam lucked out and had a fabulous day at Peak to Peak. He got to help mom in the
classroom and was able to visit some great science classes. While at Peak to Peak, he dissected an owl pellet with the 1st
graders, made a comet with dry ice, saw how fireworks got their color and watched a rocket launch. It was a spectacular day
for him and it was remarkable for me to see him sooooo excited at the end of the day as his told me about his adventures.
I hope learning will always be so magical for him! Finally, Sam was untroduced to the wonders of Easter. He participated in
3 easter egg hunts in one week. By the last one he was a professional egg finder. We now have enough candy for the next month
of desserts!
Unfortunately for everyone, Sam had a learning experience of another kind. He and some friends at school thought it would
be fun to pee on the playground. Three boys urinated during playtime. I guess you need to try it once, just to find out what
will happen??! After years of using the word, Sam finally decided to ask us what the word, " appropriate" means.
Besides all that we ended the month in New Mexico for spring break and had a great week with Nana Pam and Poppy Laurie.
We had beautiful spring weather as we explored Bandolier NM and the Santa Fe area.
